Skim rubber is created as a by-product of centrifuged latex processing. The rubber component of skim latex is low, typically 4-6 percent, with a large proportion of non-rubber elements. Skim latex or coagulated skim can be made into skim crepe or skim block, which is mixed with compounding rubber to reduce the dirt content.

Skim Crepe (Skim Block) is a crinkly lace rubber made by passing coagulated latex or any form of field coagulum (tree lace, shell scrap, earth scrap, etc.) through heavy rolls called crepers numerous times and then air drying at room temperature. They're rapid-curing crepe or granulated (block) rubbers with a higher non-rubber content than regular sheet, crepe, or block rubber.
